Please scroll down the page to see additional photographs of this item. 1880s TALL AESTHETIC MOVEMENT BRONZE& SILVER VASE Presented is a very fine Aesthetic Movement silver and red patinated ... morebronze vase. The vase is in the shape of an amphora and is held upright in a heavy silver plate stand with claw feet on a square base. The front of the vase is mounted with a beautifully cast relief sculpture depicting a lion emerging from a thicket of ivy or grape leaves. The shoulder of the vase is decorated with a fine silverplate collar with vertical ribbing. The rim of the vase has an elegant shell and scroll border. The inside of the vase has a removable insert. So that the vase can hold a bouquet of fresh flowers. This was likely made Pairpoint Manufacturing Company around the 1880s. The vase does disassemble. And we will definitely ship this disassembled, depending on your location. It is very easy to reassemble. Even if you are not mechanically incline. The overall condition is excellent. The vase and the mountings are in great shape. Most of the patina is still there. Let the photos be your guide. The silver plating is in good shape. There are some small dents here and there to the red portion of the vase, on the side and back. These are minor, and will not be seen if the vase is positioned against a wall. There are no breaks, no cracks, no splits, no other dents, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs to the vase itself. The vase measures about 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches square at the base. This auction is for a very very old British transferware Aesthetic Movement cream and sugar. The mark intrigued me with the dog and the E.M. Co. banner plus the old registration mark. The sugar ... moreis about 6 1/4" in height and 5 1/2" from outside handle edge to outside handle edge. The handle on one side has. At one point, been groken and reglued and there is the common light staining and spotting associated with this very very old pottery. There is a line about 1/2" or so long in the middle of the piece right under the greek key type border. This line does go clear through to the inside and appears to be a spider on the inside of the piece. As collectors know, this piece can be soaked in 40% peroxide(beauty supply store, liquid only-not gel) and the staining will soak out. There is no other damage that we can so. The creamer also looks like the top of the handle has been broken, but I believe, after looking at both handles, that they were attached to the piece and maybe the attachment spot is just splitting a little. There are no chips or cracks on the creamer that I can see. The creamer is about 4 1/2" tall. The band of transferware depicts leaves and twigs as well as bird and gree key type borders with a wider border under the largest band of decoration that has half a flower and a leaf alternating completely around each piece. We will double box this set for shipment. Happy Bidding!
Superb hard to find J.F.W. Staffordshire England aesthetic movement"Seasons" bread and butter plate! Brown transferware design with a medallion with birds and flowers and a"fan" ... moreshaped picture of a farmer plowing his field surrounded with flowers. The edge is a great geometric type design. There are no chips or cracks that we can find. But there is the common staining(only on the back-please enlarge photo) and surface scratches on the front of the plate as is common. This charmer is 8 1/4" in diameter. We will double box this hard to find piece for shipment. We are always happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases, so be sure to check out our eBay store(over 550 items all on sale) and our other listings. HAPPY BIDDING!

The 17 th century scene depicted in this 28 ½ by 36 inch oil painting depicts a young nobleman having his hands washed by a pretty young maiden. He is looking adoringly at her and definitely has more on his mind than clean hands. In the background a young man is holding a sword and in between the couple there is a young girl holding a basin. You don’t notice it at first. But the nobleman’s dog is lying in the lower left hand corner. The painting is signed in the lower right hand corner“T. N. 1859. We did some searching on the internet, but we were not able to identify this European artist. He was definitely very talented, and I’m sure with some research this 19 th century artist can be identified. In the blacklight photographs. You will see a professional restoration to the young lady’s skirt and along the bottom edge of the painting. Everything else is in perfect condition and it comes in a quality 33 by 42 ½ inch gold gilded frame. There are a couple of old restorations to the outside corners of this frame. There is no reserve on 1869 Victorian Oil Painting. Please don not bid without rec

This is a lovely little silver plated bachelor tea set in the aesthetic style and dating from the 1870's. The set is by the renowned maker Walker& Hall and i think it is EPBM.Electroplated ... moreBritannia metal rather than EPNS.Each piece has a lovely oriental-style,assymetric designof bamboo and butterflies, favourite patterns at this period. The teapot is in a lovely globular, bullet style with Walker& Halls patent handle that allowed heat out of the vent holes so it didn't need an ivory or wooden handle. The pieces are all stamped clearly on the base and are in very good condition for their age with just some wear to the plating and a small dent on the teapot. The teapot measures 13 cms high x 20 cms wide, the sugar basin measures 7.5 cms high(not handle) x 14.5 cms wide and the little milk jug is 6.5 cms high(not handle) x 11 cms wide. A very decorative set from the Aesthetic period that would grace any collection.

Description: LARGE PICTURES BELOW) A stunning and rare- Christopher Dresser designed ceramic dimple shape dragon tail jug. Dates to 1870-1885. Quite possibly this is a prototype design made by Henry Tooth in collaboration with Dresser at Ault or Linthorpe ceramic factories and it has been turned on a wheel to begin with and not slip cast in a mould. Very nice mustard colour glaze. Again, similar to the Linthorpe/ Ault colours way. Condition: Piece is in good condition but has some very minor use and age related wear marks and some light crazing to glaze but overall in se

This is a beautiful antique Aesthetic Movement mixed metals tithes tray. It is a very interesting early piece. Mixed metals. Applied handles. It measures 9 inches from handle to handle and has ... morean ornate reticulated crested design on the handles. Bowed design in the middle. It has one small ping on the edge as I have photographed in the images. It would probably polish up beautifully. But I liked the patina and have left it alone.
A steal at the price we're asking. Please email for more information.

This is a stunning and rare painted tin twin handled vase/ urn/ stick stand measuring 15.5" tall. Marked to the base Henry Loveridge& Co. Merridale Works, Wolverhampton. There are possible ... morelinks between Loveridge& Co and Dr Christopher Dresser, with its radical design, modernist shape and stylised floral decoration- it is most certainly in the manner of Christopher Dresser, if at this stage it can not be proven to be by him. This piece is circa 1880 and shows signs of age with some wear to the paint work and a small hole to the base which can be seen in the images- certainly wear that you would expect for a piece of this age. It is beautifully marked to the base and is a phenomenal example of early modernism.
